About Our Teachings of
Kung-Fu Personal Training • Martial Arts Weapons • Kickboxing &
Fitness
At Green Cloud Kung Fu, our facilities are a perfect place to train for our students. Everything is done for the comfort and convenience of our students. Green Cloud locations are located throughout Long Island, in the hearts of the communities it serves. Everything Green Cloud does is with safety in mind. It has spacious training floors with custom matting. It also has top-level professional equipment to help develop their students. Our school has rich history going back several hundred years. The name Green Cloud in Chinese is Chin Whan Ji or sometimes called Lyk Whan Ji. Unlike other martial arts schools, we are just an extension of the Green Cloud Monastery, which is still in Toisan China. We are not a religious organization, but we still follow the same philosophy and traditions. The martial arts that are taught in our school are taught verbatim as the monks taught their disciples. The training involves stretching calisthenics and Iron Body conditioning that develops strength and stamina through rigorous internal and external such as isometric and breathing exercises that have been handed down from teacher to student for over two thousand years. |
 |
These
exercises are not like the hundreds of fads that we see today. The
training routines that are proven and time tested over a period of
time that are designed to increase overall strength, focus and
spirit. Unlike the Green Cloud Monastery in China, we are a family
martial arts school. Our philosophy is that families that train
together grow strong together. We place a strong emphasis on
character development by developing student's confidence we see an
increase in their discipline.
In today's highly technological society we are constantly trying to
do things quicker and easier. However, quick and easy does not mix
well with a true art form. There is nothing quick and easy about
learning Kung-Fu. True Kung-Fu is based upon discipline and
perseverance, a passion for excellence and dedicated training—both
physical and mental. Most anyone can be introduced to Kung-Fu and
take a few lessons but not everyone will continue to learn. |
 |
Our
society, in an effort to make things quick and better, often brings
about change. Change is what makes our quality of life better.
Consider the uses of cell phones, microwaves, computers, and
dishwasher. Many martial arts form have also been swept up in this
wave of change so that they may make martial
arts quick and easy to learn. At Green
Cloud, we believe that this type of change is not what
Kung-Fu represents. Kung-Fu is an exercise of commitment, passion,
discipline, a quest for excellence, and physical and mental
challenges. |
